I set up Ear Clear Nurse after seeing how difficult it could be for people to get straightforward ear care close to home. Too often it meant waiting, travelling, or feeling like a nuisance for asking.
So I built a service that feels different — calm, unhurried and personal from the very first appointment. Every visit is designed to be clear and reassuring, with modern ear care techniques, careful assessment and simple explanations, so you always know exactly what to expect.
Whether you come to a clinic or I visit you at home, you’ll get the same careful attention, and you’ll never be rushed out of the door.

I’m trained in TympaHealth technology and provide microsuction ear wax removal and ear health checks as part of the Ear Clear Nurses team.
I like to take my time, have a chat and make sure you feel relaxed and well looked after from start to finish.

If your ears already feel blocked, muffled or uncomfortable, this is the one. You'll hear a gentle suction (a bit like a tiny hoover) and you can ask us to pause at any point.

Before your appointment
A little preparation can make treatment easier.
Using olive oil drops or a suitable olive oil spray for 3–5 days before your appointment can help soften wax, making removal gentler, more comfortable, and often more effective. If your ears feel especially blocked, don't worry — we will assess both ears and advise if extra time or a follow-up is actually needed.
3–5 day prep if possible
Softening the wax first makes removal gentler and often quicker.
Cl-ear Olive Oil Spray (10ml)
A gentle olive oil spray for a no-mess, easy-to-apply prep option before your visit.
Both ears are checked as standard
Even if only one ear feels blocked, we normally assess both.
Cl-ear Olive Oil Drops (15ml)
A standard olive oil drop option to soften wax gently over a few days before treatment.
Extra time only if truly needed
Longer follow-ups are recommended only when removal is stubborn.
Cl-ear Express Drops (12ml)
A faster-acting urea & glycerol drop option for harder, more stubborn wax build-up.

What is ear wax and why do we have it?
Ear wax (cerumen) is a natural substance produced by glands in your ear canal. It acts as a protective barrier, trapping dust, debris and bacteria while also moisturising the ear canal.
How do I know if I need professional ear wax removal?
Common signs include hearing difficulties, a feeling of fullness or pressure, ear pain, ringing (tinnitus), dizziness, or persistent itchiness.
Is micro-suction safe?
Yes, micro-suction is considered the gold standard for ear wax removal. It is safe, gentle and highly effective, using a small suction device under microscope vision.
What is the difference between micro-suction and irrigation?
Micro-suction uses gentle suction and is suitable for most patients. Irrigation uses controlled warm water and is effective for softer wax blockages.
How long does an appointment take?
Most appointments take 15–30 minutes. Home visits typically take around an hour to allow for travel and setup time.
Will the procedure hurt?
Ear wax removal is generally comfortable with minimal discomfort. Micro-suction can be slightly noisy but is not painful.

Yes, we offer home visits across the Fylde Coast including Blackpool, Cleveleys, Thornton, Fleetwood, St Annes and surrounding areas.
Is your nurse qualified?
Absolutely. Our nurse is fully qualified with specialist training in ear care procedures. We are fully insured and committed to maintaining the highest clinical standards.
Should I use olive oil before my appointment?
Where suitable, olive oil drops for 3–5 days may help soften wax and make removal gentler.
Do not use drops if you have pain, discharge, sudden hearing loss, dizziness or a known perforation — call us instead and we'll advise.
