Pre-Treatment Preparation

Preparing for Your Ear Wax Removal

For the most effective treatment, we recommend the following preparation:

Earol or similar olive oil spray with a nozzle is perfect for getting all the wax lodged in the ear canal softened prior to wax removal. Simply spray 1-2 times to affected ear/ears at least 2 days prior to your appointment.

If you feel that you have a substantial amount of wax then use it 2-3 times a day. If you feel that you only have minimal amounts of wax then once at night would be an appropriate treatment prior to removal.

Pre-softening is particularly helpful for irrigation but can benefit all removal methods. However, if you're unable to use drops before your appointment, we can still proceed with treatment.
